Marine

Fasteners and machined components used in the design of marine equipment are subject to the harsh conditions of water, salt and other corrosive materials. Fasteners used in these applications must be able to withstand the high corrosion environment they are subject to. Using fasteners not designed for these conditions can and will lead to failure. Components manufactured specifically for their resistance to corrosion should be used in marine and other maritime applications.

Although we supply fasteners and components in a wide variety of materials, the preferred material for most Marine applications is 316 stainless steel which has almost the same physical and mechanical properties as 304 stainless steel. The difference is that 316 stainless steel incorporates 2-3 percent molybdenum, which increases corrosion resistance. Alternative 300 series grades can contain up to 7 percent molybdenum.

Whether custom or standard, Abbott Interfast will supply your company with quality marine components at competitive prices along with outstanding service, helping to make your business even more successful. Ready to get a quote on your marine components?
