Standard & Specialty Cold Headed Products
Abbott-Interfast specializes in the manufacturing of standard and specialty precision cold headed products complete per customer specifications. Cold head products are created by “cold forming”, a manufacturing process by which wire is fed into a cold heading machine, cut to a pre-determined length, inserted into a die and upset to form a part. This process creates little to no waste. The cold heading process creates a stronger part due to the enhanced grain flow of the material.
Our 70+ years’ experience along with partners both domestic and international provide access to 75+ different specialized cold heading facilities to meet the needs of our customers. Sizes include miniatures (00-80/ M1.2) to large diameters (2” +). Common materials that we use to produce cold headed products include low, medium and high carbon steel, stainless, brass, aluminum, copper, bronze, exotics and more.
